Kubernetes platforms for SaaS applications

At BradBit, I built and ran Kubernetes platforms for our own applications and those we managed for clients. I looked after infrastructure, automated deployments and day-to-day operations.

I built Kubernetes environments, automated infrastructure and deployments, and ran the shared services used by the applications.

Building and running platforms at BradBit

From 2019 to 2026, I combined my role as managing director of BradBit GmbH with software development and infrastructure work. I built and ran platforms for our own applications and those we managed for clients.

Automating infrastructure and deployments

I set up Kubernetes environments in the cloud and on our own infrastructure. The work included tenant isolation, access control and highly available storage.

I used Terraform, Ansible, Puppet and AWS CDK for provisioning and configuration. GitLab CI/CD, Argo CD and Helm automated application deployments.

Shared services for the applications

The platforms provided monitoring, logging, authentication, messaging and secrets management. I worked with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Keycloak, Kafka, Vault and Infisical for these services.

I also handled backups, performance optimisation and architecture decisions, looking after both the applications and the systems they ran on.

BradBit GmbH ceased operations in September 2026. Today, I use BradBit as my personal brand.

For a financial services client, I set up a central system for managing sensitive credentials. I integrated it with the deployment pipelines and the client’s Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.

Outcome

Secrets are managed centrally, supplied to applications and rotated as part of the automated deployment setup.

Secure connectivity between devices and cloud

For an automotive client, I worked on a mesh network connecting devices and cloud services. My work covered routing, load balancing and mutual authentication between participants.

A distributed network architecture connects devices and cloud services through mutually authenticated connections.
